Moderno Residence
This client wanted to enhance his "absent" outdoor living area. We designed a new expanded driveway to increase the functionality. A negative edge pool was added that payed homage to the striking curves in the architecture. The hardscape seating areas and new outdoor kitchen/bar worked with the existing rocky mountain topography. Planting and lighting were added to finalize the design. (planting in the video does not represent the true planting plan, but shows general planting areas for effect)
Hernandez Residence
Project parameters included pool and spa, water slide for the kids, fire pit area and landscaping. The existing large cut north slope allowed for a terraced pool and spa design. The forward facing pool and spa overflow create a striking visual from the home and yard as well as soothing sounds for relaxation. The fire pit is nestled into a quaint built in seating area which hides the water slide stair case. The new paver material runs right over the existing concrete patio slab and out to the new pool area for a seamless transition. The planting palette is one of soft, kid friendly succulents and desert color.
contemporary stone canyon
A new build in Stone Canyon started by exploring the house placement on the new site, driveway layouts, courtyard entry sequence, side garden and rear yard with an optional pool and spa combo. Later the pool itself was removed from the plan and the hardscape and planting were adjusted to maintain a finalized outdoor living package.
